Summary
Wildlife conservation in Africa, especially South Africa, has been at a crossroad the last few years, with both positive and negetive aspects. My mission is to practice honest and constructive medicine and management around both the commercial and conservation wildlife sectors. I currently practice as a wildlife veterinarian based in the Lowveld, and I mainly work with hoofstock, predators, and pachyderms. Our practice specialises in the capture and transport of wildlife within Southern Africa, and we often have projects outside the country. Currently I am locuming in Iraq working with detection dogs on the oil fieds, not conservation-related at all but giving me a huge perspective on what makes the world go around, and what happens when we don't look after nature!
