With Fewer than a 1,000 Antillean manatees remain in Belize Coastal Waters, Six (6) were in my care. It was beautiful experience to bottle feed the orphaned babies, and spend most of my 13-hour work days acting as their mom. This included various vegetation and seagrass gathering, enrichment skills, cleaning, nutrition, medication & monitoring.
I was also on team Ocelot, along with caring for other 'odds and sods' animals, while also living on the grounds in the Belizean Jungle.
Wildtracks is working to protect and conserve endangered species and biodiversity through results-oriented action, species and habitat conservation, education and collaborative partnerships.
