ProjectDP archived the experience of Armenian Displaced Persons who lived at Fünkerkaserne in Stuttgart, Germany immediately after WWII. The idea behind ProjectDP was to harness the Internet to make your family’s DP experience accessible to more people, and to interactively record your family experience by giving you feedback opportunities.
The founders envisioned ProjectDP to have three phases. (1) Publishing an interactive website to gather and share information. (2) Publishing a coffee table book – a treasure for your home and also for the Library of Congress to preserve the DP experience for posterity. (3) Maintaining a research archive for scholars to access to facilitate publication of scholarly materials.
The curators are interested in the DP community's photos, videos, sound recordings, research material, works of art, artifacts, historical maps and charts. Feel free to contact me at [email protected].
