Description

I am a medical doctor and neurologist by training with a great passion for writing and medical communication, for which I have a special gift and talent. Within that space, my interests include new technologies, diagnostic and therapeutic, and lifestyle medicine enhanced by well-researched supplements. I love the entrepreneurial spirit that drives innovation and progress.

My education and professional training include a B.S. in Zoology at UT Austin, a medical degree (M.D.) from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX, Neurology Residency training from University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and a Movement Disorders Fellowship from the University of Colorado. I am licensed to practice medicine in AZ. I am ABPN board-certified in Neurology and a certified functional medicine health coach.

I have a passion for medical science and wish to communicate that through writing. Currently I am writing white paper for Teiko Bio, a clinical research organization (CRO) that uses mass cytometry technology to help bioscience companies discover immunotherapy breakthroughs for cancer, and for TBI3, a company that applies innovative technology to aid in rapid diagnosis of mild TBI. This year, I have written multiple articles on headache subtypes and sleep for 50s plus magazine and have medically reviewed science articles for 50s plus magazine, Epoch Times magazine, the diet app, Carb Manager, and Axon Optics, a company founded by an ophthalmologist devoted to producing eyewear that alleviates the symptoms of those suffering from photophobia.

Recently, I wrote an article on current conventional and alternative therapies for epilepsy management for Medihuanna, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) curriculum and comprehensive medical terminology curriculum for high school students for Realityworks, and an essay on the role of astrocytes in depressive behavior for graduate students for the company, Wise Line. Other recent projects include writing an article on Alzheimer's disease and editing an article on dementia for HelpGuide.org and writing some articles on biotech portfolio companies for Status Labs.

For over a year, I wrote articles on evidence-based supplements for MCI 911, a website dedicated to providing helpful and accurate medical information on the critically important subject of mild cognitive impairment. I wrote scripts for supplement products for Ideal Male, LLC, where I serve as spokesman, and I have edited information blogs for Kiss My Keto. In the past, I helped edit and write articles for a cognitive trait genetic testing biotech start-up company called GENEius and for Physician's Choice brand supplements. I have also helped edit and write a chapter in a PhD thesis on motor learning and rehabilitation following stroke for a client on behalf of Research Medics, a professional medical writing service. Furthermore, I did audio editing of an emergency medicine curriculum for AudioLearn LLC.

In 2016, I completed a project for a medical education company, WilliamsTown Communications, developing interactive patient cases to accompany a textbook for advanced EMTs, and was the primary author of a manuscript on the indications for and evidence behind endovascular therapies for acute ischemic stroke.

Other writing accomplishments include a journal article entitled "Case Reports Showing a Long-Term Effect of Subanesthetic Ketamine Infusion in Reducing l-DOPA-Induced Dyskinesias" published in Case Reports in Neurology, an essay on impulse control behavior secondary to dopamine-replacement therapy that was published in ParkinsonVoice (the newsletter for Parkinson Association of the Rockies), an essay on newly emerging ideas on Alzheimer's disease entitled "Rethinking Alzheimer's Disease," posted on the website, nonclinicaldoctors.com, and an article for the website xpertdox.com on the presentation and treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage. I have also written several articles supporting the use of nutraceuticals to promote cognitive health and graceful aging for Seribu Pty. Ltd.

I am eager and ready to start working as soon as possible. Please review my resume and keep me in mind for the position. I look forward to growing with and contributing to your institution.
